Towing cost in India: how a tow is priced
Before you confirm a booking on Towigo you see your fare with each charge on its own line. Here is what those lines are, why they are there and how to read them. We do not quote a price here because it depends on your trip: enter it and see it in about a minute.

What is in the fare
Base fare
A starting charge for sending a truck out.
Distance
Charged per kilometre. The distance is counted both ways because the truck has to come back, and the charge line shows the one-way distance and the billable distance side by side.
Platform fee
A fee for using Towigo: finding a verified driver, tracking, support and the invoice.
Tolls
Tolls on the route are passed through at cost.
Adjustments
Some hours, such as late night, some areas and some trips, such as crossing a state border, can carry a named adjustment. It appears as its own line.
GST
The fare you see includes tax, and the tax is shown as its own line on your invoice.
What makes one tow cost more than another
Distance
The biggest factor. A longer trip costs more, and the return leg is included.
Tow type
A flatbed carries the whole vehicle with a bigger truck. An under lift is lighter. Heavy and crane recovery use heavier equipment.
Where the vehicle is
A basement, a narrow lane or a ditch takes more work than a clear shoulder.
The vehicle
A heavy vehicle, or one that does not roll or steer, needs more handling.

What is the price of a tow truck in India?

Why is the distance counted both ways?
The truck has to drive to you, carry your vehicle and drive back. Counting the return is what makes the fare honest. The charge lines show how it is worked out.
Is the fare I see the fare I pay?
Yes. The fare is shown before you confirm and is locked once you book. Changing a setting later does not change a booking that is already made.
What do I pay now and what do I pay later?
You pay a small token online to book. It is part of the fare. You pay the balance by cash or UPI at the drop.
Does a flatbed cost more than an under lift?
It can, because the truck and the loading take more work. It is also the right choice for automatics, EVs, low and damaged cars. You see the fare for the tow you pick.
Is there a night charge?
Some hours can carry an adjustment. If one applies, it is shown as its own line before you confirm.
