Data Retention Policy

This Data Retention Policy explains how long Towigo Mobility Pvt. Ltd.( “Towigo”) retains personal and operational data collected through our website, mobile applications, and towing services, and the criteria used to determine retention periods.

This policy supplements our Privacy Policy and Data Protection Policy.

• Account and profile information (name, phone, email, vehicle details);
• Booking, trip, and payment transaction records;
• Location data associated with active and completed bookings;
• Communications with customer support;
• Device identifiers, logs, and security audit records;
• Driver and partner onboarding, KYC, and compliance documents;
• Invoices, tax records, and refund documentation.

We retain data only as long as necessary for the purposes described below:

• Active accounts: profile and preference data retained while your account remains active;
• Booking records: typically up to seven (7) years for dispute resolution, accounting, and legal compliance;
• Payment & invoice data: as required under GST, income tax, and financial regulations (generally up to eight (8) years);
• Support tickets: up to three (3) years after case closure unless a longer period is required;
• Security logs: typically twelve (12) to twenty-four (24) months;
• Marketing consents: until withdrawn or account deletion, plus a short suppression record to honour opt-out requests.

Retention periods may be extended where required by law, ongoing litigation, regulatory investigation, or fraud prevention.

When retention periods expire, we delete or anonymise data using secure methods. Backups may persist for a limited period before being overwritten in accordance with our backup rotation schedule.

You may request account deletion subject to legal and contractual obligations. Some data may be retained in anonymised or aggregated form for analytics and service improvement.

We may suspend routine deletion where data is subject to a legal hold, court order, tax audit, insurance claim, or law-enforcement request. Data will be released or deleted when the hold is lifted, subject to applicable law.

You may request information about how long we retain your data or ask for correction or deletion where applicable under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other Indian laws. Submit requests to our Grievance Officer via help@towigo.in.
